Robert Readel (Bob to everyone who knows him) is the FSSC 22000 Regional Inspector in the Americas. He is also part of the GFSI Technical Working Group on Auditor Competence. Auditor Competence is one of the foundation cornerstones for risk removal at all levels of the food chain. His previous experience has been in the food industry; primarily in Quality Assurance and Food Safety. He retired after 40 years with the company Cargill, where he assisted with FSSC 22000 implementation in Cargill Corn Milling North America and selected sites globally. Bob knows that as a Scheme Owner, FSSC 22000 must do its part at maintaining transparency and communication, verifying compliance with the relevant standards, and providing information at all levels. He strives to uphold the mantra that Food Safety is not a competitive advantage - it is fundamental to the health and well-being of all individuals. Food safety involves everybody in the food chain.
