FSSC is looking for a Communication Officer. In this position you will support the Manager Communication in implementing the FSSC communication strategy.
The most important communication objectives are: improving the communication between FSSC and its partners, creating more awareness for the brand FSSC and to further professionalize FSSC communication to strengthen the brand. You have a sharp eye for design related matters and are able to guard deadlines and act upon them. Last but not least you’re skillful with programs like Mailchimp, Indesign and Photoshop. FSSC operates worldwide and our main language is English, so the ability to read, write and speak English at a high proficiency level is required for this position.
- Communication with our partners
FSSC has got an international network of 200 partners worldwide. We keep our partners updated through our monthly newsletter, webinars and the online support platform MyFSSC. It’s your job to design these newsletters, send them and improve readability. Besides that you will support our team members during webinars and the preparation of these webinars by offering support in creating the presentations. For our webinars we use the tool Zoom. You like exploring new Zoom possibilities and functionalities and will claim ownership of this tool. In your position you will support other team members in working with these functionalities.
- Website and social media
You will make sure our website is fully up to date and looks picture perfect. You initiate improvements to the website regarding content, functionality and SEO. Furthermore you will manage the FSSC social media: LinkedIn and Twitter. In order to do so you will actively approach our team members for content.
- Event management
Every year we organize our two day Harmonization Conference. The Conference offers important opportunities to network and harmonize on technical matters with our partners. In addition, our six local representatives organize local events to support market opportunities. An important part of your work is providing support in organizing these events. By support we mean, guarding deadlines, designing banners and advertisements, but also set up mailings and creating event pages.
- Graphic design
You’re skilled in working with grahic design programs like InDesign and Photoshop and you’re able to create business cards, brochures and other communication products within our corporate identity. You don’t need to design from scratch, since several formats are available already. Furthermore you’re familiar with Microsoft Office to design powerpoints and word documents within the boundaries of our corporate identity.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of Communication on at least Secondary Vocational Education (MBO) level
- Skilled/experienced in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Indesign
- A digital native and therefore “handy” with social media. You have experience with systems like wordpress, mailchimp .
- The ability to read, write and speak English at a high proficiency level is required for this position
- Creative mindset and an eye for details
- Pro-active, customer oriented, result driven and innovative
- You have two to three years of experience in a comparable position as Communication Officer
- You’re able to work independent
- Small and international team
The FSSC team consists of about 20 team members of which 12 team members are based in the Netherlands and 8 are based worldwide (China, Japan, USA, Mexico, India and Australia). A good sense of language and the sensitivity to work with different cultures are therefore important qualities of our new Communication Officer. Our main language is English and we work in an informal manner. We don’t know that much hierarchy within our organization and we respect and appreciate everyone’s input.
- Our office
You’re based in our office in Gorinchem, the Netherlands. This is a new position and we estimate the position on 24 hours a week. The possibility to extend the position to fulltime can be discussed.
