To fulfill our mission, twenty food safety professionals work on the continuous improvement and innovation of the GFSI recognized food safety management system FSSC 22000. FSSC 22000 distinguishes from other food safety certification Schemes because of its focus on certifying the Food Safety Management System of an organization. Two transport and distribution companies explain in an interview how they experienced the FSSC 22000 certification process.
The FSSC 22000 Scheme is managed by Foundation FSSC 22000 and governed by an independent Board of Stakeholders which consists of representatives from several sectors in the food industry.
To ensure transparency and involvement of the industry, an Advisory Committee is meant to make recommendations regarding a number of topics, including technical aspects like unannounced audits & Food Fraud, guidance documents and scheme revisions. The Advisory Committee reports to the Board of Stakeholders.
