Exponential growth FSSC 22000 in year of milestones
17 February 2014 - The previous 12 months has been a year of significant milestones for FSSC 22000. Many of these were highlighted in our newsletter published in August (2013). Starting in February of last year, the Foundation was pleased to announce the successful re-benchmarking of FSSC 22000 by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) against the revised GFSI Guidance Document Version 6.
Secondly, FSSC 22000 was accepted by the European Cooperation for Accreditation for the certification of Packaging, and the newly accepted, GFSI benchmarked scheme was revised to FSSC 22000 Version 3, and published online.
In June of 2013, FSSC 22000 announced the issue of its 5000th certificate! This was evidence of the exponential growth of FSSC 22000 from its initial availability on 2011 to the present day. With the number of certified sites continuing to rise and now working with 90 certification bodies, 1500 auditors and 14 training organizations, FSSC 22000 remains the fastest growing certification scheme for the certification of food safety management systems.
FSSC 22000 has international recognition and now boasts certified sites in 144 countries. With its growing global presence, FSSC 22000 remains the only ISO-22000 based food safety management scheme benchmarked by GFSI.
FSSC 22000 was accepted by the European Cooperation for Accreditation for the certification of Packaging. And the newly accepted and GFSI benchmarked scheme was revised and published online.
