Food fraud and integrity: different perspectives

Great harmonizing atmosphere, informative presentations and lots of interaction during FSSC 22000’s information seminar. A recurring theme during the information seminar was food fraud and integrity.

The FSSC 22000 event Amsterdam is the first event in a series of three. The first day of the two day event was the information seminar with Hugo Byrnes  (Ahold) as the first speaker. Byrnes spoke about a retail perspective and GFSI aspects. Unilever and Coca Cola continued the program by sharing their experience with the FSSC 22000 scheme. After the lunch break and a small harmonization intermezzo, Saskia van Ruth, Professor Food Authencity and Integrity at Wageningen University, focused on food fraud and integrity. Onno Nillesen continued on the theme of food fraud in his presentation 'A new perspective on Food Fraud: Follow the money'. Bernd Vermeulen ended the speakers program with a presentation on food safety standards from a perspective of legislation.

The second day of the FSSC event was dedicated to certification bodies only. Interested in attending one of the FSSC 22000 events?
