Aldin Hilbrands Appointed Technical Director FSSC 22000

FSSC 22000 is pleased to announce the appointment of Aldin Hilbrands as Technical Director. In this new position, Mr Hilbrands will be responsible for all technical aspects of the FSSC 22000 certification scheme and will assume responsibilities on 1 June 2015.
Mr. Hilbrands brings more than 20 years of relevant industry experience to his new role. He previously served in various positions, ranging from consultancy, training and quality assurance to managing brand integrity, safety and sustainability.

In his last position, Mr. Hilbrands worked for Royal Ahold in a global role responsible for policy setting and compliance of own brand products with food safety, non-food safety, social compliance and responsible seafood requirements. This position entailed intensive internal and external engagement with various stakeholders such as standard setting organizations, certification and accreditation bodies, trade organizations, governments and NGOs.

He has served in many different capacities on boards and working groups of leading organizations such as the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), British Retail Consortium (BRC), International Featured Standards (IFS), GlobalG.A.P., Global Social Compliance Program (GSCP), Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), European Animal Welfare Platform (EAWP), Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), Marine Aquarium Council (MAC), Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and most recently he co-founded the Global Seafood Sustainability Initiative (GSSI).
