SGS Succesfully Presented at Information Seminar Asia

SGS, the world's leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company was invited to speak and showcase their unique solutions at FSSC 22000 Information Seminar Asia held at Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Hotel, Thailand, on 28 April 2014.

The Information Seminar Asia was a solution based conference designed to introduce organisations throughout the entire food supply chain to the added value of FSSC 22000. All aspects ranging from FSSC 22000s global status to its application and expanding scope will be covered. The program included inspiring keynote speakers, valuable case studies and a panel discussion.

Food safety is an issue that will always remain on consumers' minds. Over the years, many food safety standards have evolved in order to enhance food safety and address consumer concerns.

Developed to meet the needs of the global supply chain, FSSC 22000 delivers a GFSI benchmarked certification scheme which incorporates the requirements of the ISO standards and pre requisite programs (ISO 22000, ISO 22003, ISO/TS 22002-1 and PAS 223) for the certification of food safety management systems in the manufacture and provision of food packaging.

SGS AT THE EVENT

In this event, SGS aimed to help organisations to establish management systems and processes that fostered legal compliance, increased transparency, improved the efficiency and performance of food supply chains and to continuously improve on food safety aspects.

John Buchanan, Global Food Product Manager of ISO/FSSC 22000 at SGS presented the “FSSC 22000 Perspective” at this event. John shared with the attendees the current and emerging issues in food safety, the factors affecting those have been major emerging areas within the food supply chain arena, the importance of systems and processes, efficiency improvement and all aspects of business management and risk processes.

Boontarika Bampenpol, Lead Auditor FSSC 22000 at SGS Thailand presented a case study on “FSSC 22000 DANONE” together with Christophe Boulais, Danone Food Safety Center Manager, Danone, France. Ms. Boontarika shared a tailored approach to FSSC 22000 certification, and technical specifications for sector PRPs.
