The Foundation for Food Safety Certification was founded in 2004. The Foundation developed FSSC 22000, the ISO 22000 and PAS 220 based certification scheme for certification of food manufacturers. This development is supported by the Confederation of the Food and Drink Industries of the European Union (CIAA). Information on the status of FSSC 22000 Certification Scheme
7 January 2010 - The acceptance of the FSSC scheme is very positive. 23 Certification bodies received a provisional license, the first unaccredited FSSC certificates are issued, several accreditation bodies have indicated wanting to provide accreditation and the number of food manufacturers using FSSC 22000 is growing rapidly on a global base.
